For the last week, Jack has been liberated from his 'rents room and has moved into the big room: his own. As you should know by now, Dr. Mommy and Mr. Daddy have been playing it conservative (no, not a political comment, we all know Dr. Mommy's problems...). As part of our focus on attachment parenting, we've kept Jack in a pack n' play in our room at night so we could be there if he woke up and so that he'd know we were there (although Jack has universally slept through the night, with the exception of some nightmares that seem manageable after a good back rub). And as it relates to naps, he doesn't like them so that left little to really say he needed the pack n' play.
After a month of procrastinating on cleaning up his room, Aunt PJ helped us get it all set and then the plan was for naps and diaper changes to occur there so he could begin the adjustment. Last Thursday Jack called Mr. Daddy's bluff and went down on his own. Following a diaper change before bed, Jack was going to chill in his crib as a 'holding pen' while I looked for his PJs. Jack laid down, grabbed his bottle, and I'm pretty sure stuck his tongue out at me before going to sleep. Guess that will teach us who is the boss!
