Jack's Second Wedding

No dancing with the bride this time, just riding the groom...
No, Dr. Mommy wasn't drunk when she took this picture, just a bad, bad photographer.

Jack does the Bares...Part 2

So as we deal with near zero temps and the Bares prepare for the next ice age, we figured,  why not more pictures of warm, sunny San Fran?  We can tell already Jack is back to a little cabin fever.  Heck, he loved showing the friends that not only is he a Golden Gopher, but he also plays one in the field...
Then there was the 'Hey look over there, someone not as cute as me!' incident.
Hmmm.  Mr. Bare, I like your drink.  Wait, this is empty...
Finally, the memories of good friends are all Jack has to keep him warm at night (oh and his bankie).

Jack Meets the Bares

After far too long and a level of expectations so high that it could hardly be met, Jack finally got to meet Mr. Daddy and Dr. Mommy's long time friends.

After watching Mr. Daddy and Mr. Ben share a fabulous bloody in Sausolito, it was off to the parade...
First we hung with Tommy.
Then we hung with Katie (oh and Jack may have gotten a little fresh, hence the smile).
And of course, there is Uncle Stacy.  Old hat, old friend, and jamming on the hotties at the wedding.  Dude, did you see that?!?!?

Jack World Traveller Part Four

As Dr. Mommy and Mr. Daddy were escaping a -17 degree home for 65, sunny San Fran, we reflected on the fact that not only was Jack taking his third airplane trip (we didn't hit that number till college), but this was the fourth trip he's taken which is pretty up there for a 16 month old.  Maybe its us who need to chill?  Well, we'll see if that happens.  Anyways, as we were hitting the Left Coast, we enjoyed everything and showed Jack much.  For Grandpa B, we hit the boats.

Oddly, Jack said he'd only be impressed when he got to go on one.  Jack got to meet many friends who have only heard of his legend.  None were disappointed.

Being there for a wedding, we decided to stay in style.  We stayed at the old Fort Baker, basically under the Golden Gate Bridge and with an unbelievable view of the city.

So not only did Cavallo Point offer a fabulous parade for Jack to play on...

but he got to take his first shower!

After a long wedding night, Jack was good.
And after a very enjoyable, warm weekend out, Jack was VERY good (booboo from running down the side walk aside).

Let It Snow!

Even if you don't live here, you know that we have had record breaking snow and cold.  On this day, it was a bit warmer so we went out to test out the new boots Jackson got from Grandma and Grandpa B for Christmas.  He likes the snow, he just wishes snow wasn't so cold.

Mr. Daddy borrowed Mr. Kevin's snowblower and Jackson decided to give it a try.
Doesn't it look like fun?

Jack and the issue of food

So Jack is a big healthy boy, no?  Well, seems the boy has a bottomless stomach.  So much so that when people watch him eat, they assume we starve him.  "How can he possibly continue to eat?"  New Year's Day, Ms. Kim and Mr. Kevin had us over for a traditional Polish New Year's celebration with pork and sauerkraut.  Jack had both (yes, sauerkraut but if the boy eats kim chi, why not?), and a couple rolls, a half tub of watermellon, some potatoes, trifle, cookies...and we are missing something.   Needless to say, he had the table in disbelief.  Thus, with Jack's endless stomach in mind, we present the best of Jack and holiday food.

Man, I love sugar...give me more...
Ha ha ha!  Its mine, all mine!
Did I mention I loved sugar?????

And don't forget fruit.  Love me an apple (pre-tooth accident - he ate it to the core).
Ah, back to the basics.  Pasta!  And yes, I wear it because I LOVE IT!

One "first day" of many

Mr. Daddy and I often refer to today as Jackson's first day of school but it was really his first day of daycare at the University that I teach at. The first day was just half a day and I stayed the whole time. On Wednesday, it is another half day but Jack will be taking on the challenge by himself. He is attending MWF. He seemed to like it. They have many of his favorite toys including several old cell/cordless phones, books and other random things that he find interesting like empty paper towel rolls. He had breakfast and lunch there which he seemed to enjoy. They have a large indoor play area where the kids can run and play even when it is cold out. They also did some painting and stamping. There are 2 teachers plus many elementary ed students who come in and assist. There are 10 kids in his class, 7 boys/3 girls.

Mr. Daddy picked up Jackson at 12:15 and I went and taught 2 classes. It was interesting, but not difficult, to make the transition from toddlers in the AM to college students in the PM. By Friday Jackson will be there until 3:30 or so and this will include nap time. It will be interesting to see how he does sleeping some place besides his bedroom.

Rockn' on the Rockn' Horse

It's Official!

He's all ours or more correctly we're all his, legally speaking, that is.  The adoption is official as of today.  Have a drink on Jackson.
