Visiting the Fire Station

This summer, Jackson's daycare has many fieldtrips planned.  The first one was to the local fire department.  Jackson was not too excited about it.  But here are a couple pictures of the adventure.
Waiting to get out of the strollers.
In the ambulance.  Jackson didn't think he should be in an ambulance unless absolutely necessary.
Listening to the fireman.

City Mouse in the Country

Riding in Grandpa's '29 Ford Model A.

Dancing, dancing!

What's this fuzz on your face?

Sammy is playing a video game, Jackson thinks his game is actually a cell phone.
Silos, the skyscrapers of the country

Journey to the Fatherland

Not Germany, South Dakota or something like that.  Mr. Daddy will explain on a later post.  I just want to share some of the pics from our trip to see all of Jackson's grandmas and grandpas on Mr. Daddy's side of the family.  We also got to meet Uncle Tim and Aunt Peggy for the first time and Jackson's only human cousin, Sammy.  Add Jackson to wide open prairies and fun will ensue.

Four generations.
Cousins meet for the first time.
Jackson eating his second dinner of the night.  Strangers?  What strangers?

The Movers Take a Break

Jackson decided he needed a break from the moving.  We decided to head up to the lake.
U of M or WSU?  Which hat to wear?
Aunt Mel shows Jackson how to throw rocks in the lake without getting into the lake.
Yum, pasta!  All of the wait staff stopped by to watch Jackson enjoy his pasta.

Moving Day?

Over the meadow and through the woods to Grandmother's house we go.  What the song doesn't mention is this journey takes place in the middle of the night and when you get there you have to pack up all of Grandmother's things.  Grandmama and Papa B are getting ready to move closer to Jackson and so we all jumped in the new truck to help out.  Here Jackson does some raking before putting it in the truck.
Here the moving men take a break.
Here Jackson is using the dollie.
Here is Jackson really using the dolly.
This is Obi.  It took awhile for Obi and Jackson to warm up to each other, but Jackson loves the woof-woofs.

More from the sandbox

So yes, Mr. Daddy made a box but it still has no sand.  In the mean time, every one should be impressed with Jack's fine motor skills.

Oh and as a footnote, the bow is because apparently nobody has figured out that toddlers need belts too.  Hence, Dr. Mommy improvised.

Brainwashed from the word Go!

Wandering through the garage, Jack finds his future alma mater buried in Mr. Daddy's golf bag.

As our friends have said, does he really have a choice?  :)

Mr. Daddy Tries Being Handy

Why buy a $5 plastic sandbox when you can make one?  Mr. Daddy set out a couple weekends ago to use all those tools in the garage.  Of course, Jack wanted to help.  First, you have to dig the hole.
Then measure twice, cut once.  Jack found the measuring fun once, twice, three times...
Jack totally wanted to be manly, and help inside the sandbox (especially after Dr. Mommy dressed him in a bow).
And Jack actually was pretty good.  Helping Mr. Daddy put the screws in the anchor stakes.
And in the end, Mr. Daddy created...
a box!
