So meeting Jack for the first time was pretty heady stuff. Staring into his eyes for the first time and getting a little "What's up" look back was pretty cool. He played pretty hard with us, seemed to not mind the smelly, weird looking white people hanging out with him, and didn't seem to mind chewing on my fingers with his 6 teeth. One thing is for sure, we are not baby proofed enough at home to handle a kid who can almost walk. The funny moment was when we were talking with the foster mom via translator and we were asking about his mobility. Bam, she pulled him up and propped him against the large stack of diapers and he just stood there surveying the little closest we were in. Granted he didn't walk out of the place after that, but the dude has balance and can maneuver. We both sucked on his plastic donuts and played, "I can slap the table as good as you can." There was a moment right away at the beginning where he seemed to call me Dad but I'll chalk that up to language and baby talk. Dr. Mommy and I laughed about that since almost all parents yearn for that moment when Mom or Dad is uttered for the first time. Us? We'll say it was nice but not quite that moment, yet. Overall, he seemed pretty content and didn't cry until the very end. It was past his naptime (he usually goes down at 9 and we were pushing 10:45). So that considered, pretty well for the first meeting. Little does he know the 13 hour journey we have planned....
All in, it was a good day. As Dr. Mommy said, we'd have taken him home at that moment, but it seems par for the course that they wait till you are ready to go to take him. We have his passport and travel documents with us. We'll have to post that picture when we can as the foster mom didn't recognize him and thought it was a girl. As you can tell, he has gotten a little chop on the hair.
But the hours are counting down at this point. 36 if I do my math right. 3:30 Seoul time which should but it at 1:30 am back home on Wednesday morning. I expect you all up at that time ringing little bells of joy. :)

I do expect that these pictures will be available for Jacksons favorite Aunt to reproduce?
